Job Position: Full-Time Police Officer

Applications are being accepted for the position of full-time Police Officer with the Newtown Police Department. We are a service-oriented, progressive law enforcement agency that embraces the community oriented policing philosophy, respects and values our citizens and officers. Police Officer’s duties include protecting life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, routine patrol, investigation, traffic enforcement, community outreach, and general calls for service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age, valid Ohio driver’s license, high school diploma or G.E.D, current and valid OPOTA peace officer certificate, pass a physical exam, drug testing and extensive background check.

SELECTION PROCESS

Application for employment, physical fitness testing, oral board/panel interview, ride along, background check, In home interview, polygraph/CVSA, psychological exam, interview with Chief of Police.

SALARY

Current top patrolman salary is $38.94 per hour.
