Leaf, Twig & Branch Pickup

Leaf Collection Program

October 15 – December 15 (collections does not take place on certain days of the week - our team does collection from area to area depending on the need)

Residents should take note of the following procedures for disposal of leaves:

Bulk leaves must be raked to the curb and will be picked up by the Village Service Department using the vacuum leaf machine during the collection period. Residents are required to keep grass, brush clippings and other debris (rock, gravel, trash, metal, etc.) out of the leaf piles and leaf piles containing such debris will not be picked up. This debris can damage the leaf collection equipment. Do not place leaves in the street or gutter. Leaves placed in the street or gutter, clog gutters and storm drains and may constitute a traffic hazard. Leaves should be placed just behind the curb in your yard and your pile should not extend more than 8 feet up into your yard. Our equipment cannot reach any further than that and piles that extend outside the reach of our machine might not get picked up. Any leaves that are piled behind parked vehicles shall not be picked up either.

After regular leaf collection has ended, any remaining leaves should be placed into bags or cans and put out for pick up on your regularly-scheduled garbage day or alternatively can be taken to Hamilton County’s free drop off site at BZAK Landscaping located at 3295 Turpin Lane (off State Route 32). They are open weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm, and Sundays 11 am to 5 pm.

Brush Collection Program

January – October (Suspended during leaf collection)

This service is intended for the occasional limb that comes off of a tree from a storm.  The Maintenance Department will canvas the Village throughout the week and pickup this type of debris when they see it set out to the curb. Branches must be larger than 1 inch in diameter and should not exceed 4 inches in diameter. Branches must also be at least 2 foot in length but be no longer than 6 foot in length. When placing branches at the curb please leave them side by side with the cut end of the branch placed towards the street.

The following WILL NOT be picked up: small sticks, twigs, clippings, flowers, vines, and ornamental grasses. These items can be placed in bags or in cans and placed out on your curb for Rumpke to pick up on your regularly scheduled garbage pickup day.

If you are cutting down trees, shrubs, bushes, clippings, etc., it is the responsibility of the property owner to dispose of this yard waste. Any yard waste left at the curb by contractors, tree surgeons, landscapers, etc. will not be picked up.

If a resident has brush that is outside the conditions of what we will pick up, they are encouraged to use the Hamilton County’s free yard waste drop off location at BZAK Landscaping located at 3295 Turpin Lane (off State Route 32). They are open weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm, and Sundays 11 am to 5 pm.
